Our Men's Club has had a great year during 2012. For the first time in number of years the Club fielded two Pennant sides in grade three & four. The grade three side (see below) won the zone flag undefeated and then went onto the state finals in Inverell in August. They only suffered one loss all year and that was to Maitland City who went onto win the State Flag.
Our grade four side also had a strong year, ending runners up in the zone to Alexandria Erskinville

NSW CLUB CHALLENGE
Ashfield Bowling Club will be competing in the NSW Club Challenge in 2012.
The Bowls NSW Club Challenge pits sides of seven club based bowlers up against each other in singles, pairs and fours with points allocated in each match based on rinks won. In knockout play, the side to win two out of the three contests wins the match.
Sides are arranged into local sections, playing up to six round robin matches to determine a section winner that will progress to the knockout regional finals, ultimately reaching the final four and progressing to the State finals.
Last year Ashfield Bowling Club reached the regional finals of the Mixed division, this year we plan to go much further!
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS 2012
The final of the Club Major Singles for 2012 was won by James Cook. Congratulations to James (pictured above) who defeated Greg Aspinall 31-14. The final was played in very windy conditions and could have gone either way. James then went on to win the Zone 11 Champion of Champion Singles.
Congratulations to Paul Reynolds for winning the Minor Singles. Paul defeated Greg Travers 31-29 in a final that could have gone either way. Paul also won the Law Walker Singles getting up over Jim McCullum 31-17
The club Major Pairs was won by Alan Gallagher & James Cook 31 to Bruce Weary & Alan Brown 4. Well done in particular to James who backed up his singles win.
The Minor Pairs final was a cracker. I came down to the last bowl with very narrow win to new bowler Noel Rayner and his partner Paul Redolfi 31 to Mark (Glasson) Watson & Paul Reynolds 20.
The fours winners were Zac Hadzic, Greg Travers, Greg Annlezark & Robert Goldberg 30 with the runners up Jim McCullum, Barry Linder, Paul Redolfi and Nevikke Ross 14.
